Due to COVID-19 and in accordance with the University of Michigan public health informed plans for Fall 2020, Festifall and Northfest will be offered virtually this year.

Fall 2020 Fests Updates

This fall, the University of Michigan and the Center for Campus Involvement are making efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19. For this reason, and in recognition of the important role that fests play in student organization recruitment and involvement, Fests will be offered virtually for the Fall of 2020.

Some details, such as dates and times, will be made available at a later date. Student organizations who completed the fests application and were approved will receive further instructions as soon as they are available and this page will be updated to reflect changes to the Fests process.

Important changes to fests for Fall 2020:

  • Registration fees have been eliminated for student organizations participating in Fests this year.

  • Fests will be held virtually, and hosted on the Career Fair Plus platform. 

    • No action is needed at this time, participating orgs will receive further information about how to use this platform

  • Final dates/times for fests will be communicated in the coming weeks as part of the overall Welcome to Michigan schedule.

  • In order to participate in Fests, student orgs complete the following by July 31st:

  • If your org has already completed the fest application and been approved for Festifall and/or Northfest 2020, your spot is held. You do not need to reapply if you have already done soIf you submitted an application for Fests are were approved, you will have already received a message in your inbox! CCI will gather additional info from participating orgs as we get closer to fall. 


Application Process

There is a single application for Festifall and Northfest.

Applications are now open!

To qualify for a student organization virtual table at Festifall / Northfest, your student organization must:

  • Be a registered student organization in good standing. 

  • Complete annual registration by July 31. 

    • You can apply for fests before your org registration is complete, but any organization that has not completed this process by the cut-off date will forfeit their fest spot.

    • Registration is completed through Maize Pages.

  • Submit your fests application by July 31.

  • CCI may be in contact with student organizations participating in fests to request further information and to provide additional information regarding related rules and policies.

Due to the University’s change in operations in response to COVID-19, all fest related fees are waived for the Fall 2020 semester


Fests Application Timeline

  • April 1, 2020 - Fest applications open for Student Orgs

  • ROLLING - Orgs will be notified of their registration status on a rolling basis

  • July 31 - Student Orgs applying for fests MUST COMPLETE annual organization registration by this date or they will forfeit their fest spot
     
  • July 31 - Deadline to submit Fests 2020 application
