My professional journey took me to Ann Arbor from Philadelphia. Throughout my career, I have gained experience in a variety of areas in student life, including new student orientation, study abroad, multicultural affairs, and service learning. My heart, though, has remained with the community building that occurs with students and staff through campus programs and student organizations. I enjoy the meaning making, partnerships, and learning that occur with these experiences, particularly within the unions at the University of Michigan. I give back to the profession by being a volunteer with the Association of College Unions International. I also serve as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Leadership and Counseling at Eastern Michigan University.
Health and wellness are important to me, so you might see me doing TRX, jogging at Gallup Park, enjoying the arts, reflecting, or hear me express joy with my boisterous laugh! In my previous life, I was in theater arts and had an opportunity to perform one summer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. I studied sign language for a year before the show, Children of a Lesser God. My twin sister would say that my fun fact is that I can whistle out of the corner of my mouth!
I serve the staff and students who work in the Center for Campus Involvement and University Unions, and serve as a member of the University Unions Senior Leadership Team.
