The annual SORC Winter lottery for advertising services takes place in December and January.

There are 3 reservation periods per year for SORC advertising services:  Spring/Summer, Fall, and Winter.  The Winter reservation period encompasses January 17 through May 9, 2016.  The lottery is not a one-day process, but rather a series of staggered deadlines and appointments to help you reserve everything you need in a structured, know-when-to-be-there format.  This minimizes the amount of waiting and allows you to do as much as possible from the convenience of your computer.

Here is the timeline for Winter reservations:

December 1  Online lottery applications opened. The deadline was January 8 at 6:00 p.m.

Diag boards  

  • The lottery deadline was January 8.  
  • If you entered the lottery, you will have an appointment on Wednesday, January 13 between 2PM-9:30PM.  Check this website sometime before Tuesday to see a list of appointment times. 
  • See appointment times here.
  • If you did not enter the lottery, you can reserve spaces starting at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 15.  No appointment is necessary.

Banner Poles

  • The lottery deadline was January 8.  
  • If you entered the lottery, you will have an appointment on Wednesday, January 13 between 10AM-1:30PM.  Check this website sometime before Tuesday to see a list of appointment times. 
  • See appointment times here.
  • If you did not enter the lottery, you can reserve spaces starting at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 15. No appointment is necessary.

Table Tents

  • The lottery deadline was January 8.  
  • If you entered the lottery, check this website sometime before Tuesday to see if you won.  Instructions will be provided. 
  • Drawing results will be posted later today (Monday).
  • If you did not enter the lottery, e-mail sundholm@umich.edu to be added to the wait list.

Michigan Union Banner

  • The lottery deadline was January 8.  
  • If you entered the lottery, check this website sometime before Tuesday to see if you won.  Instructions will be provided. 
  • Drawing results will be posted later today (Monday).
  • If you did not enter the lottery, e-mail sundholm@umich.edu to be added to the wait list.

 

Starting December 1    Online reservation requests for Bus Signs, Glass Showcases and Digital Ads opened on 12/1.  There is no deadline to reserve these spaces, per se, but there is a limited number of spaces.  When they're full, they're full.

Friday, January 8    Online lottery applications closed; random drawing conducted over the weekend for appointments on January 12 or January 13.

Monday, January 11   Lottery results posted.

Wednesday, January 13  In-person reservations for Diag banner poles, 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. (by appointment).

Wednesday, January 13   In-person reservations for Diag boards, 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. (by appointment).

January 11 through 14   In-person and electronic reservations for first-round winners of Table Tents and Michigan Union banner (no appointment needed).

January 14 Payment due for spaces reserved during lottery appointments, 6:00 p.m..  First deadline for Table Tent winners.

January 15   In-person reservations for Diag boards and banners continue until spaces are filled (no appointment needed).  Will begin at 11:30 a.m.

January 15   Table tent and Michigan Union banner reservations continue until spaces are filled (winners listed on website; can reserve space and complete contract in person or via email).
