The Spring-Summer lottery takes place in mid-April every year.

The Spring-Summer reservation period encompasses May 8, 2017 through September 25, 2017.  

  • The lottery is a series of staggered deadlines and appointments to help you reserve the advertising you need in a structured, know-when-to-be-there format.  
  • Completing reservations via lottery does the following:
    • maximizes the fairness of access to limited campus advertising resources.
    • minimizes the amount of wait time.
    • allows you to do as much as possible from the convenience of your computer.

Lottery applications for Diag boards, Diag banners, Table Tents, and the Michigan Union banner closed on Thursday, April 13 at 10PM.  Appointments will take place on Tuesday, April 18.

We will begin taking first-come, first-serve reservations (no appointment necessary) as soon as all appointments are finished.  This will be at approximately 5:00PM.

The lottery applications for the Fall 2017 lottery period, which encompasses September 25, 2017 through January 22, 2018, will open in early May.  That application will remain open all summer, and appointments will take place the second week of classes in Fall.

Online reservation requests for Bus Signs, Glass Showcases, and Digital Ads for May through September 2017 will open on approximately April 19. 

 

Fall Lottery Timeline

The Fall reservation period includes all dates between mid-September and mid-January

Late April  Fall lottery applications open.  Fall non-lottery requests open (Bus signs, Digital ads, Showcases) open.

Thursday after classes begin  Fall lottery application deadline, 10PM

The following Tuesday or Wednesday   (contingent upon SORC student employee class schedules) Banner Pole and Diag board reservation appointments will take place from 10AM to 9:30PM

Thursday of that week   Deadline to sign a contract (thus locking in the reservations); groups that do not sign by the deadline release their spaces back to SORC

Friday of that week   Reservations will begin at 12PM (no appointment needed) for groups that did not secure spaces during the lottery

 

Winter Lottery Timeline

The Winter reservation period includes all dates between mid-January and early May

Week after Thanksgiving  Winter lottery applications open.  Winter non-lottery requests open (Bus signs, Digital ads, Showcases)

First week of January   Winter lottery application deadline

Second week of Winter classes (date TBA, pending SORC student staff class schedules and availability)  Winter Banner Pole and Diag board reservation appointments will take place

Late March  Spring-Summer lottery applications open.  Spring-Summer non-lottery requests open (Bus signs, Digital ads, Showcases)

Early-mid April   Spring-Summer lottery application deadline

Mid April (date TBA, pending SORC student staff class schedules and availability)  Spring-Summer Banner Pole and Diag board reservation appointments will take place
