Filing a Report against a Student Organization
Any student, faculty, or staff member of the University of Michigan can submit a complaint against an organization alleging a violation of the Standards of Conduct for Recognized Student Organizations. If you would like to file a complaint, please complete the form linked below to begin the process of filing a complaint. Once you have submitted the report, a CCI staff member will connect with you to walk through the SOAR Accountability process and submitting a formal complaint.

Please note that SOAR is not a confidential reporting mechanism. For confidential assistance around sexual misconduct allegations, please refer to the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office. For emergencies, please dial 911.

Campus Climate Concern:
The category of campus climate concerns includes malicious threats, damage or defacement of property, or physical contact specifically intended to intimidate or harass another person because of the person's race, color, religion, gender, or national origin. If you have experienced a crime, report it directly to the Department of Public Safety at 734-763-1131 or the Ann Arbor Police at 734-994-2911. If you report it to DPS or AAPD, we would appreciate a report via phone. If you feel that you have experienced harm and would like to discuss the concern, please call 734-615-2427.

Sexual Misconduct:
The University will respond to any report of sexual misconduct made to a non-confidential University employee. All reports to non-confidential employees will be reported to the U-M Title IX Coordinator in the Office for Institutional Equity. Please note that no student organizations should be investigating or making determinations on the merits of allegations of sexual misconduct. We strongly encourage student leaders to submit a report when they learn of allegations of misconduct. To access confidential assistance, or to submit a report on discrimination, discriminatory harassment, or sexual misconduct, please visit the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office.

Hazing:
Hazing is any action or situation, with or without the consent of the participants, which recklessly, intentionally, or unintentionally endangers the mental, physical, or academic heath or safety of a student. The University of Michigan condemns hazing practices as requirements for membership, advancement, or continued good standing in organizations. If you or someone you know have experienced any sort of hazing please report it to the appropriate department. A full list can be found on the Dean of Students website.
