Rigo Gutierrez

Program Manager

Rigo is the Manager for Student Programs within the Center for Campus Involvement, a role which allows him to collaborate with a wonderful team of staff and students dedicated to cultivating a vibrant and inclusive Wolverine community through the University Activities Center (UAC) and other programming areas in the University Unions.

As an undergraduate student, Rigo was very involved with student life on campus, which was an impactful experience that shaped him as a person and gave direction to his passion of working in higher education. Rigo earned his B.A. in Communication at the University of Texas-Pan American and a M.Ed. in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Texas State University. His focus areas are student engagement and development, campus activities, and diversity/equity/inclusion.

Rigo's hope for all students is that they will significantly grow, make friendships and connections, and have a platform to pursue their personal and professional passions during their time in college. "With hundreds of student activities, organizations, and programs offered every year, you are sure to find something to be involved with at the University of Michigan! Go blue!"
