Potential sponsors are often reticent when approached by a student organization because they are worried about overstretched budgets. As a sponsor, you determine what resources you will commit to the organization and in what amount.
Some groups may approach you for sponsorship to gain access to the University benefits inherent in sponsorship, and they may not ask for any additional benefits from your unit. Remember, sponsorship is a substantial relationship, not necessary a substantial commitment of resources.
