Sponsored student organizations are student organizations that operate under the direct supervision of the sponsoring University unit.
SSOs must be sponsored by an executive officer, dean, or director or a major academic or operational unit. This unit must be committed to providing significant financial and staff support to the student organization whose mission is consistent with the University’s and sponsoring unit’s missions:
- The unit will provide an advisor for the SSO.
- SSOs must have a written document (Sponsored Student Organization Agreement) describing the nature of their sponsorship. This document must be signed by either the sponsoring executive officer, dean, or director and by the student organization.
