A unit that sponsors an SSO should bestow additional benefits to the SSO that illustrate the substantial relationship between the two. The general guideline to new sponsors is to provide two of the following, in addition to the required faculty/staff advisor:
- Financial support
- Space
- Administrative support
These are just examples of typical benefits that most units are able to provide. Your unit should review its inventory of resources and make a good faith offer of those resources that would support the SSO in pursuit of its mission. The benefits that the unit will provide should be identified in the SSO Agreement.
