Fall 2026 Events Availability

  • Escapade, 8/29 8pm-11pm: 1500+ students - a free annual welcome event featuring roller skating in the Michigan Union with games, and giveaways
    • Roller skating rink inside the Rogel Ballroom with gear provided

    • Interactive games, activities, and free giveaways

    • Music, snacks, and socializing to explore the union building

  • Go Blue Mix, 9/4 8PM-11PM: 700+ students - a high-energy, late-night event that serves as the official kickoff extravaganza for the UMix Late Night event series
    • Thrill Activities: Features a zip line, mechanical riding football/bull, and bumper cars.
    • Interactive Games: Includes giant inflatables (like Hungry Hippos), LED putt-putt, and glow-in-the-dark entertainment.
    • Live Entertainment: Offers student group performances (like the percussion group Groove) and karaoke.
    • Free Novelties & Food: Provides student favorites like mac-n-cheese, chicken tenders, and personalized airbrush gear.
  • Go North!, 8/28 2PM-5PM: 600+ students - a welcome event designed to introduce students to the culture, beauty, and resources of North Campus
    • Outdoor Festivities: Held at the North Campus Grove (the grassy area near the Lurie Bell Tower), featuring giant inflatables, arts and crafts, and outdoor lawn games. 
    • Free Food & Swag: Students can grab free food samples and custom giveaways inside Pierpont Commons. 
    • Scavenger Hunt: Includes an interactive scavenger hunt that explores North Campus spaces, giving students a chance to win limited-edition, custom U-M merchandise.
  • Festifall: 8000+ students, 2-3 events - largest annual student organization and campus involvement fair.
    • Festifall Central, 2 sessions, 9/2 3pm-5pm and 6pm-8pm
    • Festifall North, 8/31 5pm-8pm
    • 1000+ student orgs tabling, free giveaways, and vendors
  • Game Day @ The Union, 9/5: 700+ students - Held before major home football games, it serves as an alcohol-free, high-energy gathering place for students heading down to the Big House. On September 5, the event lines up with the first big Saturday home football game weekend of the fall semester
    • Free Tailgate Food: Free snacks and food are served on the lawn to help students fuel up for the game.
    • U-M Swag & Giveaways: Student life staff hand out limited-edition Michigan-themed gear, pom-poms, and spirit giveaways.
    • Lawn Games & Music: Features giant lawn games, music, and interactive activities to build hype before kickoff.
  • Beats & Treats North Campus, 8/27 6:30PM-8:30PM: 600+ students - brings students together for a relaxed evening of music, socialization, and free dessert before the fall semester begins.
    • Free Ice Cream: Students can enjoy free ice cream scoops, with dairy-free and gluten-free options explicitly provided.
    • Music & Beats: Features live student DJs or curated music playlists to set a high-energy, welcoming campus vibe.
    • Lawn Games: Offers outdoor games and activities across the grass to help new students make friends.
