SORC Advertising Appointments Fall 2024

Fall Advertising Appointments

SECOND-ROUND Appointments

If you would like a 2nd-round appointment, please submit this brief form and we will email you the appointment time and the Zoom link. It will also be added to the list below, for reference. Appointments will be scheduled in the order in which applications are received.

  • You may request a specific day and time time if you like, but earlier is better. Each appointment that takes place before yours means more and more spaces are taken out of commission. The sooner we can meet with you, the better your options will be!
  • Appointments will be conducted via Zoom, unless otherwise requested. The link to the Zoom call is provided via email after you submit the above request form. If you do not receive that email, please reach out to SORC via email as soon as possible.
    • Plan to join the Zoom call 3-5 minutes early, just in case you encounter technical delays. If you have trouble with the Zoom link, call 734-764-0436 or G-chat Max Preissner.
    • Student organizations must provide the exact name as registered on Maize Pages.
    • Departments should not preface their name with "University of Michigan." All departments are University of Michigan.
  • Contracts must be approved and shortcodes provided by 2 business days after the receipt of their contract. The charge will be processed (funds deducted from your shortcode) the week before your reservation begins. If you cancel, our billing and cancellation policy is in effect.
  • A few things to know about 2nd-round appointments:
    • You can reserve Diag boards, Banner Poles and Student Event Advertising at 2nd-round appointments.
    • During the first round, there is a limit of 2 Diag boards per group, per week. In the second round, you can reserve more.
    • During the first round, there is a limit of 4 weeks of Banner Poles per group. In the second round, you can reserve more weeks. You can also reserve more than one banner per week.

FIRST-ROUND Appointments

Before skipping to the list of appointment times, please read these crucially important tips:

  • Appointments will be conducted via Zoom, unless otherwise requested. The link to the Zoom call will be provided in an email to everyone who applied. If you do not receive that email by 7/30, please reach out to SORC via email.
    • Plan to join the Zoom call 3-5 minutes early. There is a 10-minute grace period for tardiness, but if no one joins the call within that 10-minute window, you sacrifice your first-round appointment time.
      • If you miss your first-round appointment, you miss your opportunity to reserve the best spaces.
      • 2nd round reservations start after the 1st round, but by then, many other groups will have had the opportunity to reserve spaces before you, so selection will be limited.
      • If you show up too early, we probably won't be ready for you yet, so you should expect to sit in the Waiting Room until your appointment time.
      • We must complete reservations in the order in which groups were drawn. Showing up early does not mean that you will be allowed to reserve spaces early.
    • If your appointment time conflicts with class or another commitment, consider sending another group member on your behalf.
      • Any group member may reserve spaces for your group, provided that they know how many spaces to reserve, what time frame, and generally where you would like your advertisements to be.
      • Be sure to educate the person who joins the Zoom call about your group's needs.
  • The first appointments are designated for student organizations. Appointment times are determined by a random draw.
  • A bit about "Organization Name" in the tables below and on your advertising contract. Some organization/department names were changed for consistency prior to the draw:
    • Student organizations: Your "Organization Name" is listed below exactly as it is officially recognized on Maize Pages. This is the name that we will write on your contract.
    • Departments are not prefaced with "University of Michigan." All departments are University of Michigan.
    • Abbreviations can be included in parentheses, but we need the full name of the organization on the contract and on the materials when you submit them.
  • Contracts must be authorized and shortcodes provided within 7 days of receiving your preliminary contract. The charge will be processed (funds deducted from your shortcode) the week before your reservation begins. If COVID or any other campus-wide emergency closes or significantly impacts campus before your reservation begins, you will not be charged for the space. Barring such an emergency, our Cancellation Policy is in effect once the contract is authorized by your leadership.
