Request and Reserve Summer Advertising Services

 

The Student Organization Resource Center (SORC, pronounced "source") provides campus advertising resources and services.

  • Below is information that is specific to the Summer 2023 reservation period, which encompasses May 8 through August 28.

Diag Boards & Banner Poles

SUMMER RESERVATIONS FOR DIAG BOARDS AND BANNER POSES ARE NOW CLOSED! PLEASE LOOK AT THE FALL RESERVATIONS TAB

  • Available dates for the Summer 2023 reservation period are May 8 through August 28.
  • There will not be a random drawing for appointments to reserve summer advertising spaces.
    • First-time users of Diag boards and Banners: You can request an appointment anytime except August 8-12, when we will be doing appointments for Fall reservations.
    • Experienced users of Diag boards and Banners: you can request spaces anytime. Copy and paste the following, make changes as needed, and send it to [email protected]:
      • I wish to reserve Diag Board / Banner space on behalf of (organization name).
      • My phone number is:  xxx-xxx-xxxx.
      • My shortcode is (number), and I am the authorized signer for my organization.
      • A brief description of my ads is: (for example, "concert" or "mass meeting" or "general").

      • I would like to reserve the following spaces:

      • If reserving Diag boards: I have read the construction and content guidelines for Diag boards and will submit materials that follow these guidelines.
      • If reserving Banner poles: I have read the construction and content guidelines for Banner poles and will submit materials that follow those guidelines.
  • A few things to know about Summer reservation appointments:
    • You can reserve both Diag boards and Banner Poles at the same time/appointment.
    • A few limits to be aware of:
      • Diag boards can't stay at the same location for the entire summer period.
        • Diag boards will need to move at least once every 6 weeks. You may choose the move dates. Not available: May 29, July 3 (holidays).
        • If your Diag board reservation lasts no more than 6 weeks, moving is not required.
        • Banners do not need to move.
      • Limits during Welcome Week (August 21-28)
        • There is a limit of 2 Diag Board spaces per group. It is not possible to add more spaces at a second appointment.
        • There is a limit of 1 Banner Pole space per group. It is not possible to add more spaces at a second appointment.
    • There are substantial discounts on space rental for the Summer reservation period.
      • Reserve 6-11 spaces, save 10% on space rental
      • Reserve 12-16 spaces, save 25% 
      • Reserve 17 spaces or more, save 50%

Table Tents

  • This service is not offered in the summer. Look for information on this website in July for the Fall reservation period.

 

FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE SERVICES

Bus Signs and Digital Ads request forms are open, as of May 1. ​For these two services, there is no drawing or appointment. You submit the request and we complete your reservation electronically. We fulfill requests in the order in which they are received.

  • Bus Signs
    • Available dates for the Summer 2023 reservation period are May 7 through August 27.
    • ​There is no deadline for these requests per se, but the earlier you request the space, the better. Space on the buses is finite; when it's full, the service is no longer available. Many weeks fill up; others do not.

    • Discounts:
      • 6 weeks or more 10% off
      • 12 weeks or more 25% off
  • Digital advertising
    • Available dates for the Summer 2023 reservation period are May 7 through August 27.
    • There is no deadline for these requests per se, but you should allow at least one week before your desired start date, especially if you have never used this service before.
    • Unlike Bus Signs, Digital Ad space isn't tightly limited. This means you don't have to plan as far ahead.

Summer Advertising Timeline

The Summer reservation period begins in early May and ends in late August. What to expect:
